Uganda holds pioneer Diplomatic Awards

Major General Muhoozi Kainerugaba is Friday evening expected to be the Chief Guest as the country recognises and appreciates diplomatic missions, individuals and organizations taking lead in uplifting Ugandan youth.

Organised by the Uganda Youth Talent Promotions (UYTP) and Haneem Atizoyo’s SpiroLine, the 2017 Diplomatic Awards are happening at Hotel Africana in Kampala.

Among those to be recognised is city businessman Suleiman Kabangala Mbuga alias SK Mbuga who is lauded for constructing a community health facility, Nu-Shifah Hospital in Lukuli, Makindye Division in Kampala to serve all residents of Kampala City. Mr. Kabangala who was recently hospitalised after an accident also promised to buy ambulances for Ggaba and Entebbe.

In the diplomatic missions category for East Africa, Burundi’s Embassy in Uganda beat Kenya, Rwanda and South Sudan missions in Kampala, Sudan was lauded as the best among North Africa’s representatives with Nigeria (West Africa), China (Asia), US Embassy (Americas) and the British High Commission was voted the best European mission in  Kampala as far as promoting innovation, talent, discipline, ethics and values among youth is concerned.

Haneem Atizoyo told TheUgandan that the organisers had a team of selected judges and committee who did research to come up with the winners.
