After the last fight almost resulted in the death of the Mbarara based kick-boxer Ausi Mbata, the Kickboxer has moved on quickly from the Golola Moses pounding and is scheduled to take on Mwishe Magerwa, a Tanzanian kick boxer in the Pro-Arm International fight on August 5th 2017.

The fight is jointly organised by the World Kicking boxing federation and Uganda Kickboxing Federation.

Hassan Ssekilime, the president, Uganda Kickboxing federation, says the fight that will take place at Agip Motel in Mbarara will be the first of its kind in Uganda.

He says the decision to take the fight in Mbarara is meant to make the sport known to the people outside Kampala.

Twaha Kashaka, the promoter of Mbata, says despite being a good sport, only a few Ugandans have embraced Kickboxing.

According to Kashaka, there is need for concerted efforts to develop and nurture talents. Mbata is upbeat about the fight, saying he is well prepared to knockout his opponent.
