Of late artists have taken the game to another level by staging expensive shows not for prestige but to show their colleagues that they are a class apart.

We have witnessed shows where artists have charged their fans seven digit fees and they manage to get a full house.

Juliana, Irene Namubiru, Jose Chameleone, Isaiah Katumwa, Bebe Cool among others have successfully held expensive shows before.

Not to be left behind, veteran singer Mesach Semakula has for the first time staged a VVIP show Hotel Africana’s People’s space dubbed ‘My Journey, Totya Bigambo’ scheduled for March 3.

Each reveler will part with sh100,000 or sh1,000,000 for a table and he is confident that he pull it off with a full house.

“I am confident of my fans and I want to give them quality and quality does not come cheap that is why but I do not think that is a lot of money given the menu on that day,” Semakula told TheUgandan by telephone.

Most of the expensive shows in excess of sh100,000 have always been held at Serena Hotel’s Victoria Ballroom.

No band music artist has ever staged such an expensive show and we wait to see how Semakula will pull it off that day.
