Chaka Chaka and Anne Kansiime are close pals
Every time Ugandan comedienne Anna Kansime and South African music legend Yvonne Chaka Chaka share a space (stage in that matter), it is never not like a mother-daughter show, but rather like a show of two 20-year-olds.
The duo is part of an exciting line up of African talent is due to get London rocking on the 19th November at the Copper Box Arena!
Alongside the iconic Chaka Chaka, Kansime will lead a gang of young and astoundingly talented young Artists such as Emmanuella, Mark Angel, Eddie Kadi, Mc Bonde and DJ Giddie & Deejay Mkhukhwini.
Chaka Chaka, is keen to have her audience understand that the power and future of Africa lies in empowering her women and children.
With her on-going commitment to people and her divine love for music, Yvonne Chaka Chaka has continued to break barriers and champion causes that few others would dare to, including AIDS TB Maternal and Child health, for which she was awarded the World Economic Forum WEF Crystal Award in Davos in 2012, becoming the first African woman to be recognised for using her powerful voice to bring about social change. She remains a dedicated Roll k Malaria Ambassador since her backing vocalist, Phumzile Ntuli died of the disease in 2004.
Her song “Amazing Man” is a tribute to her long-time friend and the man of the world, Nelson Rolihlahla Mandela and all the African leaders who gave us back our dignity and to celebrate Africa. “Madiba, was indeed an Amazing Man,” Chaka Chaka explains.
Chaka Chaka emphasise the unique value of women with the cleverly titled “Well Organised Man (Woman)” as follows: “I’m sure everyone will agree with me when I say we’re all men on earth, but some of us who bring life into this world can be described as a Well Organised Man (Woman).”
The Concert will be a brilliant collection iconic songs that Fans all over the world know and love. Her music reflects her creative force, love of Humanity and remarkable talent in a way that bespeaks her years of dedication to a life in music and Humanitarian work.
