Joy Doreen Biira fakes theft of ‘her’ Mercedes Benz

Social media has been awash with reports that Joy Doreen Biira, the KTN news anchor’s Mercedes Benz had been stolen, but The Ugandan has established Biira’s car was never stolen.

Sources close to the Kenyan based journalist indicate that there has been a mistake and that it was not her car.

Although she had made her social media followers believe that the stolen car was hers, a close source says the car belonged to a close friend to Doreen.

The rumor that ‘her’ car had been stolen was sparked off by a tweet: “Stolen Car, Mercedes E-220, KBY 831K, Silver in colour. If seen, Report to nearest police station or the numbers here.”

Since she didn’t specify who the owner was, everyone was left thinking that the light skinned journalist had lost her sleek ride.  Some social media commentators had started speculating on how she had, in the first place acquired the vehicle.

According to Kenyan news agencies, the Silver Mercedes Benz was stolen on the evening of December 23rd  from the Standard Media parking lot shortly after she had arrived for work.
The agencies had reported that Doreen told friends that her car keys were picked from her office and that the car was driven out in the evening before she would return home from work.

Doreen who had earlier worked with NBS Television in Uganda landed a better deal at Kenya Television Network where show works as a news anchor and talk show host.

The news of her losing such a ride was of interest to Ugandans since she had been in the news recently following clashes between government agencies and Rwenzururu royal guards.

Doreen who hails from Kasese district was briefly held by police in Kasese before she was released on police bond after being charged with terrorism.
