Jack Pemba: Interpol clears businessman’s name

Recently cited in a botched Shs2.5b gold scandal, philanthropist Jack Pemba, the National Central Bureau of Interpol Kampala has awarded him a certificate of “good conduct”.

Issued on Monday by Nabirye Lukiya for Interpol Kampala, the letter says in part; “This is to certify that according to the criminal records maintained in Uganda, Pemba Jackson Akim, holder of Passport Number 517521005 issued by the Government of the United Kingdom has never been convicted of any criminal offence or come to adverse police notice.”

Mr Asan Kasingye, police spokesperson recently dismissed claims that Mr Pemba’s personal activities were being shielded by police.

Mr Pemba has kept many speculating on the source of his income as he dishes out dollars at music concerts and sports events.

For starters, he is the co-founder of World Federation of Elite Martial Arts and doubles as the Vice-President of the federation and also the President of the federation in Africa.

Under his sports promotion company PSA, Pemba has also extended his kind gesture to several other sporting events in Uganda.
