The Archbishop of Canterbury Justin Welby is set to visit two settlements for South Sudan refugees in Uganda tomorrow.

The Head of the Anglican Church will be accompanied by Archbishop Stanley Ntagali of the Church of the Province of Uganda. Archbishop is expected to arrive at Entebbe International Airport this evening ahead of his visit to Mireyi and Bela Meling settlements in Adjumani and Moyo districts respectively.

James Leku, the Adjumani district chairperson says Mireyi settlement is among some of the oldest refugee settlements hosting South Sudan nationals in the district. He says the settlement has further been populated by new influx of refugees following renewed violence in their country.

Bishop-elect Amos Magezi, who is still serving as the Provincial Secretary of the Church of Uganda, says the archbishop is visiting Uganda after inaugurating the Province of Khartoum on Sunday where Welby declared Sudan the 39th province of the worldwide Anglican Communion.
