Entebbe Municipal Council has reopened De Bar, a popular hangout from which a bouncer reportedly beat up and injured musician Mowzey Radio who died this month at Case clinic.

Mowzey, also known as Moses Ssekibogo, reportedly sustained head injuries after an altercation on January 22.

Now TheUgandan can disclose that security leaders in Entebbe Municipality have reached to consensus of re-opening DE BAR co-owned by local businessmen Benjamin Odongo and George Egesa.

On Friday, leaders from Municipal Council led by the assistant Town Clerk Dan Fred Lutaaya, the Resident District Commissioner Rose Kirabira and the Entebbe Municipality Member of Parliament Rosemary Tumusiime met bar owners on security matters.

The municipal had on February 1 withdrawn the license of the bar and directed that the place is kept under lock and key.

Among the issues discussed was the safety and security stand of the bars around Entebbe.

RDC Rose Kirabira disclosed that there will be a re-registration of all bars in Entebbe. RDC Kirabira also revealed that security agencies will continue the crack down on bars that noise pollute and give sleepless nights to other people. Citing how the late Mowzey radio was handled, RDC Kirabira also called on bouncers to always coordinate with the bar managers to ensure that rowdy customers are escorted out of the bar unharmed.

De Bar has also been ordered to call for a press briefing and apologize on what happened previously.
