Uganda’s Judiciary has come under scrutiny after a murder suspect jumped bail and ran to Europe.
Ivan Kamyuka who was charged with the murder of his friend in Club Guvnor last year and granted a Shs5 million bail the High Court in Kampala on Friday October 28 2016. The judge also ordered Kamyuka to report to the deputy registrar of the High Court-Criminal Division twice a month.
Despite this, Finland based social media blogger Henry Kakensa shared photos of Kamyuka and his John Ahimbisibwe alias Jonnie’s baby mama Nina flying to Sweden on Sunday.
Kakensa put Kamyuka under brutal exposure; ‘Johnnie’s suspected killer has been spotted in Sweden this afternoon with his girlfriend (Johnies’s baby mama), am just curious to know how a person on bail managed to secure a visa. And how will he be in position to report to court every after two weeks as it was stated under bail terms?
A source in the High Court denied that he had been cleared after a flurry of social media speculation.
According to prosecution, Kamyuka on August 2, 2015, at Club Guvnor, First Street, Industrial Area, Central Division in Kampala District, with malice aforethought, unlawfully killed Jonnie.
Ahimbisibwe reportedly sustained a cut from a broken glass in the neck, and bled to death. Police were alerted and arrested Mr Kamyuka as the lead suspect.
