Bunyoro Kitara Reparations Agency has finalized plans to petition Parliament to investigate how 700 million pound that was reportedly paid out by the Queen of England as compensation to Bunyoro for the atrocities committed during the colonial period was used.

In 2004 Bunyoro Kitara Reparations Agency filed a case against the Queen of England in the Kampala High Court for the atrocities committed by the colonial forces on their people.

However Court told the plaintiffs to remove the Queen from the case saying the monarch can only be sued in Great Britain.

Ayena Odongo, the lawyer for Bunyoro Kitara Reparations Agency, says they have information that the British government later released money to compensate the Kingdom, but Bunyoro has not received the money.

Doviko Batwale, the Chief Coordinator, Bunyoro Kitara Reparations Agency, says their lawyer is already drafting a petition to Parliament.
