There’s nothing funny about what our sisters trade in along Speke Road in Kampala and Ethics Minister Fr. Simon Lokodo agrees with us. But a new and freshly baked comedy show will attract a new but different class of loaded corporate and campus girls once a week.
Rock Comedy premieres on February 6, 2018 at the revamped Rock bar (next to Speke Hotel). And while the rest of Kampala is excited about the reduction and discounted prices on their new theme nights, the comedy fanatics also have something to look out for.
Produced by Bright Onak real name Edmund Tweteise, the upcoming series will specifically feature comedians from allover Uganda. The property is owned and ran by Ruparelia Group’s Crane Management Services has seen refurbishments in almost every facet of it’s business.
According to show promoter Solomon Muleeyi, revelers will love the show especially given that Bright Onak is one of the pioneers of the Ugandan Comedy Industry, and that given his experience, the show will surely be a force to reckon with.
With just weeks to go until the Onak says they have worked with authorities to clean the street that is synonymous with sex workers.
Onak told TheUgandan: “The bar which has been largely innovated, with all the prostitutes chased away, will have new theme nights for the whole of the week. The aim of this is to transform the bar back to its deserved glory as the biggest most hospitable bar in Kampala. And if there is a theme night that is going to achieve that, it is the newly introduced Comedy night which is dubbed, Rock Comedy. We are in the process of putting together an experience like no other. A fusion of comedy, dance artistry, musical artistry and poetry. The kind of experience Uganda hasn’t seen in a long time.”
