Most people go a lifetime without knowing their purpose…….. but young Kampala-based men and woman who hail from Kisoro District of South Western Uganda have taken the lead in helping their aging parents and uprooting the social and health problems facing communities back home.
The group known as Bafumbira World has ascended to Kisoro town in hundreds ahead of their annual re-union December 27 at Tourist Hotel in Kisoro Municapility to also double as an implementing dinner for an elderly scheme ‘Healthy Ageing’ in collaboration with the Catholic Church’s regional referral hospital, Mutolere.
Association president, Edgar Niyimpa Mfite, an officer at Uganda Bureau of Statics in Kampala told TheUgandan that all is set for the historical day.
“This is important for us as Kisoro people,” Mr. Mfite said. “The selection of beneficiaries is almost complete and the venue and all logistics are in place so at the same event, we shall sign a memorandum of understanding with Mutolere Hospital which will be implementing the elderly scheme that was launched last year,” he added.
He said there will also networking and dinning with lots of nyama choma, drinks and a variety of local dishes.
A fun football game will also be played with a local club, Gorilla Volcanoes FC at Kisoro Ssaza Grounds on December 26.
