Multiple witnesses said, Akena born in Aruu North County, Pader District was shot in the stomach at for brushing Kanyamunye’s car while parking. The suspect is said to have lowered the windscreen and shot Akena before rushing him to hospital where he died this morning.

According to the police spokesperson Mr Andrew Felix Kaweesi, the deceased said he was reversing in the parking lot when he knocked their car. And that he was shot in the stomach when he got out of his car to apologise but was instead shot in the stomach.

One witness recalled hearing two rounds fired from the suspect’s car who was reportedly in company of his Burundian girlfriend, Cynthia Munwangari when the incident occurred.

Police says the two suspects were not found with any firearm upon arrest but both cars had dents which confirmed the deceased’s assertion that he had knocked while reversing.

Many of those who knew Kanyamunyu say he was erratic later after the death of his brother Joel last month but could not comprehend him brandishing an unregistered gun at someone over a small quarrel.

The shooting sparked uproar in the Acholi community, prompting many led by Aruu North County MP Odonga Otto to gather on social media platforms and demand answers.
