Backed with massive support from legislators from West Nile, buses plying the Northern, West Nile have been allowed to stay at Arua Park instead of shifting to Namayiba Bus Terminal as earlier ordered.

The suspension follows the area MPs of the affected businessmen on Wednesday appealing to Speaker Rebecca Kadaga over why bus operators were never consulted by Transport Licensing Board (TBL) before the decision was reached.

For instance, MP Felix Okot Ogong, who owns Felister coaches, blamed the Board of being narrow-minded to the observations of bus companies and making haste assessments without consulting them.

Government had also ordered those plying the western and Southern routes to load and offload from Kisenyi Bus Terminal while those heading to the Eastern region were ordered to operate from Qualicel Bus Terminal.

Ms Kadaga directed the state minister for Transport, Aggrey Bagiire to suspend the directive who in turn announced a three-week grace period for buses plying the mid-western, Northern, west Nile and interstate routes.
