VP Alupo Praises Oulanyah’s “Ubuntu” As She Moves Motion In his Honor

The Vice President Jessica Alupu has praised fallen Speaker as a dedicated official to Parliament and the nation.

Alupo made the remarks on Tuesday afternoon while moving a motion in Parliament to pay tribute to the former Speaker who passed on last month in the USA.

She also praised his tolerance and love for humanity which Oulanyah famously referred to as “Ubuntu.”

MPs have been paying glowing tribute to Oulanyah in the house.

The Leader of Opposition @MathiasMpuuga, also the seconder of the motion, has eulogized late Oulanyah as the “encyclopedia of parliamentary procedure” who has died at a time when many Parliamentarians needed his guidance to master the ways of parliament. #RIPOulanyah

The Minister for General Duties @JustineLumumba, who has been described as Oulanyah's 'special friend' has eulogized the former speaker as a critical thinker.
"We are celebrating a life lived with flavour, purpose, clarity and humility. The country has lost a critical thinker."
