Less than a year after hiring him, Livingstone Mbabazi has been fired by URA FC.

The former Ugandan international has been assistant Coach to Kefa Kisala at the club since February 15, this year when the club sacked Moses Basena and elevated Kisala to the top job.

In a statement on the club’s official website, Mbabazi, a former KCCA and St. Patrick Athletic (Ireland) midfielder was fired for misconduct and absenteeism.

“Mbabazi Charles’s contract has been terminated with immediate effect by the URA Football Club following his gross misconduct and absenteeism from the team’s trainings, matches and other official events on several junctures…” read the statement in parts.

Mbabazi has appeared and written apologies to the URA FC Board, with the latest being on August 08th 2016. On this date, he appeared to the Club Board for his misconduct and absenteeism. He promised to change or the club terminates his contract.

With Mbabazi, URA has won 20 league points from a possible 39 and the club couldn’t leave this unnoticed as they wished him good wherever he goes.

Mbabazi joined URA FC on February 15th 2016 replacing Kefa Kisala who was elevated to Head coach, during his time as assistant coach; the Club has won 20 league points from 13 matches (5wins, 5Draws and 3Loses). The Club wished him the best in his footballing career.

The four-time league champions have had an indifferent start to the 2016/17 season drawing both of their two games so far including one against a youthful Kirinya Jinja SS.
