The national rugby 15s side has been boosted by the return from injury of star winger Justin Kimono ahead of the first leg of the Elgon Cup against Kenya at Legends Grounds on June 10.

Kimono, 26, has been out of action for over 20 months and underwent two key knee surgeries on his right leg in November, 2015 and April 2016. While fit, Kimono was one of the most explosive players in Ugandan rugby.

On his return, the 2012 Uganda Sports Press Association rugby player of the year has so far impressed Uganda team coach Robert Seguya with his level of commitment after a long time out. “I am impressed by the way Justin (Kimono) is responding in training and during the trials,” Seguya said adding, “I am seeing him hitting the fitness mark for national selection.”
