Uganda names 6 rookies as Rugby Cranes await Kenyans at Legends

2007 Africa champions, Uganda Rugby Cranes have named a new-look  team ahead of the Elgon Cup tie with rivals and neighbours Kenya on Saturday at Legends Rugby Grounds.

Assistant coach Robert Sseguya on Tuesday told journalists that he and head coach South African John Duncan have handed six players a shot at a debut after long weeks of preparations. Musa Muwonge,Robert Aziku,Aron Oforywoth, Ivan Kirabo,Adnan Mutebi and Eric Mulamila will earn their first caps on Saturday in place of former skipper Mathias Ochwo, Ronald Musajjagulanyago, Kevin Makmot, Chris Lubanga, Ramathan Govule, James Injongat, Arthur Mpande, Gerald Ssewankambo, John Wandicho and Eric Kasiita

The team list also shows a return of three prodigal sons like veteran hooker Alexander Mubiru who returns from a long injury lay off and also on the back foot of an outstanding performance in the league. Experienced flanker Scott Oluoch also returns from an equally long hiatus from the National team. Rounding up the return of experienced players is the talismatic winger Justin Kimono, back from a long injury layoff. Kimono will come off the bench.

Selected Players: Asuman Mugerwa, Alex Mubiru, Brian Odongo, Charles Uhuru, Robert Aziku, Brian Asaba, Scot Oluoch, Marvin Odongo, Ivan Kirabo, Ivan Magomu, James Odong, Pius Ogena, Micheal Okorach, Lawrence Sebuliba, Philip Wokorach, Syrus Watum, Collin Kimbowa, Adnan Mutebi, Byron Oketayot, Musa Muwonge, Aaron Ofoyrwoth, Justin Kimono and Eric Mula
