After crumbling in front of their own faithful to lose their competition opener by 66 runs to Canada at Lugogo Oval yesterday, Team Uganda has recovered on day two, beating Singapore by 66 runs in their second match of ICC World Cricket League Division Three played at the Entebbe Oval.
Enterprising wicketkeeper Arnold Otwani top scored for Uganda with the bat, hitting 47 from 46 balls as the hosts set 217/9 (50 overs).
Mohammed Irfan starred with the ball for Uganda, grabbing 5 wickets (10 1 38 5) as Singapore were bowled out for 151 in 44 overs.
The top two teams will qualify from the 50 over event and be promoted to ICC World Cricket League Division 2 and Coach Steve Tikolo’s side are hoping to win their remaining games to stand a chance of promotion.
