After a 39-year wait, Uganda’s return to the prestigious continental showpiece, African Nations Cup has been hit by misfortunate after first team centre back Murushid Jjuko was bereaved of newly born triplets.
Heartbroken, on Friday when the national team departed for their Tunisia training camp after the first, a boy, died on Thursday night, Juuko was on Saturday morning informed that other two girls, Hadijah and Hajara Jjuko were confirmed dead on Saturday early morning.
The cause of death for the triplets born on boxing day at Nsambya Hospital in Kampala has been attributed to as pre-mature birth
His elder brother Muzamiru ‘Dida’ Jjuuko dispensed the sad news and confirmed the two girls would be buried at Ssisa, Nakawuka later today.
“We are struck by the unfortunate incident. The bodies are being brought from Nsambya Hospital to the family house in Mpala, near Entebbe as we plan for the burial. This is a very trying moment for the family and may Allah keeps us strong,” he said.
He later told TheUgandan: “Thanks to everyone for your support!
