Well, it’s finally happened.
Roughly able to secure a new club after South African based club Baroka FC through the club owner Khurishi Mphahlele confirmed contract termination, Geoffrey Massa has announced his retirement from international football.
Massa is one of Uganda’s most capped player in history having made his debut against Ghana on 4th September 2005, playing over 80 matches with close to 30 goals.
While he has had a nomadic club career, Massa rarely turned down the chance to play for his country (he would find excuses like injury to miss Cranes’ away games though) and his retirement at the above-30 age comes with more than a hint of sadness.
