We all deal with pressure in one form or another. The pressure might be in situations with family, friends, work or other various important life circumstances. It’s no different for sportsmen.
Naturally, when you are a big name in any sport the onus to perform and (or) carry the team forward is on you.
But first, you have to be given playing time to get all that done which is what KCCA FC striker Geoffrey Sserunkuma is glad to be getting,
“I will always take it (playing time) as an opportunity and give the glory to God whether I have managed to score or not,” he says.
The veteran striker who has already netted twice in as many league outings is well aware of what is expected when accorded playing time especially at a club as big as KCCA.

“A team of KCCA’s stature expects results. It’s not really about crisp playing. All the time what is needed is a maximum result.”
“The challenge to us is we are new to the team that has won trophies and has another level it wants to ascend to. That means to perform well we have got to create a difference by defending the league and winning the Uganda Cup as well as go a distance in the Champions League”
Even with his experience, Sserunkuma still feels some pressure to deliver.
“There’s a lot of pressure because I’m new to the team. I was brought here because there was a difference they wanted to see so I have to make sure I do something every match regardless of the time on the field”
