Uganda Police spokesperson AIGP Andrew Felix Kaweesi has Thursday given media a tour of the Rwenzururu palace site which was set ablaze by the army on Saturday.

More than 60 people, including 16 police officers, perished in the latest skirmishes that initially began in the neighbouring Kabarole District last Thursday before culminating in the Sunday bombing of the royal palace.

Overall, some 207 people have died Rwenzori region in different violent episodes over the last two years, according to the government. In another development, police backed by the military on Wednesday arrested 16 more royal guards in Mitooma.
