Swangz Avenue on Irene Ntale’s departure: ‘We Were Truly Hurt’

In the wake of Irene Ntale’s departure from Julius Kyazze and Benon Mugumbya’s Swangz Avenue, the Muyenga based music label has reached out to her fans with a new statement, saying they are “hurt and confused” by her actions.

As previously reported, Ntale broke the news on Monday evening through her Facebook page disclosing that she has been contemplating the move for so long and that she has come to an understanding with the record label and that the split was amicable and had chosen her sister Sandra Ntale as her new manager.

Now, Swangz bosses have have sent a new message to their fans to clarify their side of the story once more.

“Her numerous awards and numerous chat topping hits in just 4 years make Irene the most successful female artist in our 9 year history.

They then confirmed TheUgandan’s report that they had attempted given Ntale a new contract to cancel her plans, but she’d refused to show up.

“Irene asked to leave the label and we believe it is in the best interests of both parties. Her legacy at Swangz and the country at large has long been guaranteed and she will always be warmly received.”
