Little more than one week after a massacre in Somalia killed more than 350 people in the capital, President Yoweri Museveni has met the troubled country’s President Mohamed Abdullahi Mohamed in Entebbe.

The Somalia leader is in Kampala since Sunday on a working visit at the invitation of Museveni. Mohamed in his twitter message did not give details of his visit but said Uganda is a reliable partner. Uganda is a big player in Somalia’s internal affairs, providing the biggest contingent of AMISOM troops and helping keep a government in place.

Somali President Mohamed Abdullahi Mohamed on Sunday arrived in Uganda to discuss with Museveni.
Mohamed in his twitter message did not give details of his visit but said Uganda is a reliable partner.

Meanwhile, another attack near Mogadishu on Sunday also claimed the lives of at least 11 people.

Several women were among those killed in Sunday’s roadside explosion that hit a minibus carrying passengers some 36km southeast of the coastal city.

The victims are said to be farmers.

According to a tally, since the start of this year, more than 20 explosions have targeted Mogadishu, killing at least 500 people and injuring more than 630.
