Scores of Muslims jammed Kunungu’s Kihihi and Butogota mosques to welcome the Mufti of the Uganda Muslim Supreme Council His Eminence Sheikh Shaban Ramadhan Mubaje on Friday.

Mubajje who has traversed the country, told Kanungu Muslims that his task is to unite a community and called on them be tolerant and live in harmony with their neighbours who subscribe to different religions.

The Mufti also cautioned the people of Kanungu and advised them to bring up their children in God-fearing and ethical manner.

Mufti Mubajje expressed delight after he toured two newly completed Muslim projects; Kihihi Mosque and Kihihi Moslem Secondary School.

He later presided over a fundraising function to accomplish Masigid Jamia Mosque in Butogota Town Council where a cow was auctioned Shs1.2 million and more four million shillings were raised from pledges.

The Mufti was accompanied by the District Khads of Isingiro, Kanungu/Rukungiiri and Kabale alongside county sheikhs, local leaders among others.
