Mike Mutebi’s KCCA FC beat Police 2-0 in the Azam Uganda Premier League, with troubled striker Shaban Mohammad getting himself on the score sheet.

The West Nile man who was last week cleared to play for KCCA and ordered to pay 22 million shillings to his former club Onduparaka on Wednesday delighted Lugogo fans when he scored their first goal of the clash in the 14th minute, after latching on to a defense splitting ball in the box from Sadam Juma.

The visiting side had one great chance in the first half, but they didn’t do enough to pull a goal back. The teams went into the break at 1-0.

Another new signing Allan Kateregga chipped home making it 2-0 for the home side on 85 minutes.

And 2-0 is how it ended, KCCA FC stretching their winning run to four, with four draws and just one loss, taking the points tally to 16 and in third position a point behind the log leaders Police and second placed Police.

Elswewhere, both Vipers and URA had to rally to rescue a point each off UPDF in Bombo and Proline at Namboole while Maroons and Soana shared the spoils goalless at Luzira.

The result has Vipers SC in fourth on 16 points after nine matches. Coach Steven Bogere’s UPDF fall one down to the bottom of the 16-team log with just six points from 10 games.

URA had Denis Kamanzi to thank after his 85th minute goal cancelled out Sula Matovu’s 65th minute opener for Proline. The tax collectors’ fourth draw in 10 matches has the side ninth on 13 points, while Proline are two places below on 11 marks.

In Matchday 10’s other match, Martin Kizza scored a spectacular long range free-kick for Sports Club Villa in their slim 1-0 victory against BUL at the Kakindu Stadium.

The record Ugandan champion’s first victory of the season away from home sees them ascend to 16 points as they climb to 5th. BUL suffered their 5th loss of the season which leaves them on 13th with 9 points.
