The National Handball Awards and Reunion Dinner 2016 will have awards are given out to recognize athletes, coaches, officials, media and volunteers for their performance and contribution to sport in Uganda this year.
Organised by the Uganda Handball Federation, 40 team and individual awards will be distributed in 16 categories covering both senior and school athletes at the Hotel International 2000 Ltd – Muyenga on 10th December.
In a rather successful, UHF won the rights to host the 2016 Africa Zone 5B handball tournament which constituents of several member nations; Uganda, Kenya, Tanzania, Rwanda and Burundi.
The sport was introduced in Uganda by a police officer called Nicolus Opanga Oneke in 1930’s.
