After a torrid spell last season and temporarily out of the Uganda Cranes setup, European-based footballer Yunus Sentamu has regained his goal scoring mojo back.

The former AS Vita (DR Congo) striker who broke to prominence after the CHAN 2014 tournament in South Africa was on target for his tier side FK Tirana in their 6-0 demolition of Shkumbini Peqin in Albania on Sunday.

Sentamu last month had also inspired Tirana to their second league victory of the season as they crashed KS Pogradeci 3-0 away at Gjorgji Kycyku stadium. His comptratriot, Tonny Mawejje had gifted the club their first victory.

Before he a signed a 2-year deal t the beginning of this season, Sentamu had been out of action since his return from the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations tournament in Gabon.

The Kasese born center forward made his mark while at St Julian Secondary School during the national schools football championship. He was ‘snatched’ by St Marys’ Kitende, winning the national schools’ title and East African honours before he graduated to play for Vipers in the Uganda Premier League.

He has previously played at Tunisian side CS Sfaxien and recently FC Ilves in Finland which he left by mutual consent in January this year.

He has scored four goals in 13 appearances for the national team and if he continues scoring, Uganda Cranes’ interim tactician Moses Basena may give him a look-in when the final Group A 2018 World Cup Qualifier against Congo Brazzaville on November 6.
