More than 100,000 students who sat for their Uganda Advanced Certificate Examination (UACE) conducted at 1,887 centres across the country from November 14, 2016 will have to wait much longer for their results.
This follows the Uganda National Examinatins Board (UNEB) distancing itself from social media claims that the results will be released today.
Mr Hamis Kaheru, the principal Uneb public relations officer said the “results not ready” and the information circulating on social media is not true but did not explain when they would be released.
Of the104,361 students who registered for last year’s UACE, 61,834 are male and 42,527 are female.
During the release of Primary Leaving Examination 2016 results, new UNEB executive secretary, Mr Daniel Nokrach Odongo made clear that it doesn’t release official communication on results through social media.
Education and Sports minister Janet Museveni on Thursday oversaw the two-day Senior Five selection exercise where traditional schools across the country have maintained last year’s cut-off points even when UNEB reported a decline in performance in last year’s Senior Four national examinations.
