New Uganda Cranes head coach Sebastien Desabre has released his final squad of players of the Uganda Cranes B squad, for this year’s African Nations Championship (CHAN), which kicks off in Morocco on January 12.

After the final training on Wednesday at Africa Bible University in Lubowa, the Frenchman dropped two more players to make the final 23 man squad as per the tournament rules.

Proline Football Club’s Daniel Isiagi and Sports Club Villa’s Godfrey Lwesibawa did not make the cut as the team left Kampala to fly out at 1500EAT aboard Qatar Airways via Doha then connect to Morocco,  according to Head of communications at FUFA Ahmed Hussein.

The CHAN team has a core of players who featured in last year’s CECAFA Senior Challenge Cup like Timothy Awany, Nelson Senkatutuka and Derrick Nsimbambi.

Cranes will play friendlies against Congo Brazaville and Cameroon in the week ahead. Thereafter, Cranes, appearing at the Chan for a fifth time, will face Zambia, Ivory Coast and Namibia.

The travelling 25 man squad.

Goalkeepers: Ochan Benjamin, Ismael Watenga, Saidi Keni

Defenders: Nicholas Wadada, Joseph Nsubuga, Timothy Awany, Bernard Muwanga, Mustapha Mujjuzi,  Aggrey Madoi, Isaac Muleme, Mustapha Kizza.

Midfielders: Milton Karisa, Paul Mucurezi, Allan Kyambadde, Seif Batte, Rahmat Senfuka, Abubaker Kasule, Tadeo Lwanga, Moses Waisswa, Saddam Juma, Muzamil Mutyaba, Tom Masiko

Strikers: Shaban Muhammad, Derrick Nsibambi , Nelson Senkatuka.
