Makerere University’s four day graduation ceremony has commenced today; 14,895 students set to graduate, 30 students to miss out.
75 graduands to receive PhDs and graduands have already started arriving at the event amid tight security.
According to the spokesperson of the university Rita Namisango, over 14,000 students are expected to graduate with those from the College of Agriculture and environmental sciences, College of Engineering, Design, Art and technology, College of Education and external studies graduating today with photos coming in so far via NTV Uganda.
The others will graduate between Wednesday and Friday.
Namisango says that all parents and graduands are expected to be seated at the venue by by 10am to ensure smooth running of the program arguing that cell phones, cameras, guns and other electronic materials are prohibited.
Meanwhile, more than 400 students will not graduate because their names are missing on the list.
