SC Villa Vs Sadolin Paints – Nakivubo 4.00pm Live on Azam TV

Uganda Premier League giants SC Villa have issued new head coach Wasswa Bbosa a vote of confidence, saying he has the club’s “unwavering support” following speculation surrounding his future after fans threatened to attack him.

This was after Shafiq Bissaaso was been sacked by SC Villa, five days after his side let a two goal slip away from them against with Lweza last weekend and met with resistance from a section of the club fans, who carried placards in support of the now sacked coach during their 2-2 draw.

He bid farewell to his fans in a statement, “As you may already know that today the executive of sports club villa decided to terminate my contract with the club. I am very disappointed but in our job this happens everyday. I would like to thank the villa management for having given me an opportunity to work with the most successful club in the country. I am proud of the work i have done and i believe i have left the club in a better place from which a new coach can move them foward. I would like to thank the players for a wonderful relationship and hard work you put in everyday, i will miss working with you but wish all of you well. Lastly the villa fans for your unwavering support and belief in me, I will never forget you. For the media, for you our work for the beautiful game continues but thank you too.”

Bissaso together with his assistant Godfrey Ssekweyama have been shown the door. Wasswa Bbosa and former Villa player Phillip Ssozi have taken over the reins.

He left Villa in second on the Azam Uganda Premier League log with 34 points from 18 games, one behind leaders KCCA who have played two games less.

Appointed interim head coach on Thursday, Bbosa told TheUgandan on Friday that he does not feel his new job is in jeopardy, and the club have now insisted that they remain “united behind [their] coach.”

SC Villa CEO Ivan Kakembo: “The club has had an objective to win the league this season so when we saw that the results were coming as we expected to meet out targets, we ended our relationship with the coach (Bissaso) and see how we can win the League.”

“Coach Wasswa Bbosa we believe has the capacity with his experience in the Uganda Premier League. He is our coach for now so we don’t want to think about what will happen in the future.”

“Our target is to focus on winning the league and coach Bbosa will take us through that would like to make absolutely clear its unwavering support for him.”

Bbosa becomes the third coach at the helm of Villa this season following the earlier sacking Deo Sserwada and eighth under Misagga’s four-year reign thus far.
