Regional steel giants Roofings Limited has condoled with the families of five people killed on Sunday, July 2, 2017, when a rental truck that was carrying their construction materials roared downhill black spot in Towei, just after Sipi, killing the driver, his two turn men and a child on spot.

The truck which TheUgandan had been was for the Entebbe Road-based manufacturer actually belongs to a transportation company, Q3 Holdings and had been hired to deliver a consignment of construction materials to VS HYDRO construction company in Kaserem, about 30 kilometers to Kapchorwa Town.

In a statement, Mr. Stuart Mwesigwa, Business Manager at Roofings Limited said they were ‘deeply saddened by this unfortunate incident and are commiserating with the families of the victims.’

“Roofings Group would like to set the record straight that this was in fact not a Roofings truck although it was carrying Roofing products. The said truck belongs to a transportation company, Q3 Holdings and was transporting these materials to one of our key customers undertaking major construction in the area,” Mr. Mwesigwa told TheUgandan.

“However we have been informed that the families of the victims of the accident are in touch with the responsible transportation company.

“We are deeply saddened by this unfortunate incident and are commiserating with the families of the victims.
