Andrew Felix Kaweesi, the fallen Uganda Police spokesperson’s last public appearance in Lwengo district ended with a bitter verbal clash with Cissy Namujju, the District Woman Member of Parliament.
On Sunday, both Kaweesi and Namujju were guests at Kyazanga catholic parish in Kyazanga town council Lwengo district to fundraise for the expansion of the church.
Other people who attended the fundraising included Kampala businessman Godfrey Kirumira, Hajj Abdul Kiyimba, the Nsangi Sub County LC3 Chairman among others.
However, the religious fundraising event turned political and degenerated into an exchange of hot words between MP Namujju and Kaweesi.
It all started when MP Namujju started telling the gathering that she had defeated all her enemies including Kaweesi who she accused of fighting her.
Namujju had been pushed out of parliament by the Masaka High Court for alleged lack of academic qualifications.
Presiding Judge Margaret Tibulya noted that the petitioners had proved beyond reasonable doubt that MP Namujju had forged academic qualifications she presented during nomination.
But Namujju appealed her nullification to the Court of Appeal. As a result, Court of appeal overturned her nullification on ground that the petitioners did not raise enough affidavits on time before filing the petition.
The Court of Appeal led by Justice Steven Kavuma therefore ruled that Namujju must stay in parliament.
On Sunday therefore, MP Namujju took time to thank the church for praying for her stay in parliament. She therefore told the gathering that she had defeated all people including Kaweesi who allegedly facilitated her rival Sarah Nkonge to fight her to get out of Parliament.
Namujju therefore bragged that she had defeated him and all obstacles to her political career.
This forced Kaweesi to grab a microphone from her and responded in a bitter manner. Haruna Mugerwa, a resident who witnessed the scuffle at church notes that the departed Police spokesman told Namujju that he feels bad that his area has no graduates.
Kaweesi reportedly claimed that after attaining his first degree he went back for further studies.
Hajj Abdul Kiyimbi, the Chairman LC3 of Nsangi Sub County told Monsignor Serverus Jjumba the Vicar of Masaka Masaka Diocese who presided over the fundraising said both MP Namujju and Kaweesi did not see eye to eye, something which the priest needed to pray for.
MP Cissy Namujju has declined to comment about the Sunday spat with Kaweesi but Kyazaanga residents confirmed the clash.

Joseph Sserwadda, a Christian at Kyazanga Catholic parish who witnessed the scuffle said MP Cissy Namujju and Kaweesi did not look eye-to-eye.

Joseph Sserwadda,a Christian at Kyazanga Catholic parish who witnessed the scuffle also notes that after sometimes, the fundraising continued and Kaweesi contributed 25 million shillings both in cash and pledge.
Sserwadda says hajj Kiyimba who was also around donated 15million shillings.
