Police has arrested more than 10 people suspected of masterminding the attack in which another Muslim cleric Maj Mohammad Kiggundu was shot dead.
Major Kiggundu was assassinated by unknown assailants moving on a motorcycle together with his body guard Sergeant Stephen Kawuma in Masanafu, a Kampala Suburb about three weeks ago.

Among those arrested, is Ayub Nyende, the General Secretary of Jamat Dawa Salafiya, Umar Bascar Kamoga, Isa Twesigye and Ismail Kasibante. They were arrested from different places in Kampala and Wakiso.
Other suspects whose identities are still being withheld by police were arrested over the weekend and at the beginning of the week. They are all held at Nalufenya police in Jinja.
“We have suspects in our cells. To be specific, at Nalufenya Police station. We are interrogating them to establish whether they participated in the murder of Maj Kiggundu,” said Mr Emilian Kayima, Kampala Metropolitan Police spokesperson.
