Police will perfectly recover, assures Kyambadde

Police football club defender Sadat Kyambadde is hopeful their team will recover well in time from the 4-0 humiliation by Vipers S.C on match day two of the Uganda Premier League at Nakivubo Stadium.

The Cops fell to Vipers, three days after they resiliently held Sports Club Villa to a goal-less draw at Kavumba Recreational stadium.

In an exclusive interview with Kawowo Sports on Thursday, the left footed defender spoke with confidence of a steady fast recovery trend;

It is still too early to predict. We shall re-organize our house and we have to get back to winning ways.

Police earned a crucial home point in the goal-less affair with SC Villa on match day one but lost the steam in the subsequent fixture against last season’s first runners up, Vipers.

In the game against SC Villa, goalkeeper Sam Kivumbi outshone the rest with a well timed penalty save off Mike Sserumaga’s weak effort.

However, in the next fixture, Police fielded Davis Mutebi whose poor judgement cost his side atleast two goals on the day.

Kyambadde is hopeful that his club will stage a perfect recovery as they seek to win at least a trophy this term since the 2005 heroics.

We target a trophy this season.

It can be league or even the Uganda Cup but as long as we end up with one trophy.

The side coached by veteran Sam Timbe, assisted by Angelo Lonyesi and David Iga will host Proline on 6th September 2016 when the top flight league resumes next after the break to allow Uganda Cranes prepare for the Kenya and Comoros games.

Police banks on the experience of trusted seasoned forwards Peter ‘Crounch’ Ssenyonjo and Anthony ‘Cassano’ Bongole for the much needed breakthrough upfront and shoulder the responsibility of inspiring a host of youngsters at the club run by the Uganda Police Force sports department.
