Police summons Byanyima over Akena Murder

Police has summoned Edith Byanyima, the sister to Dr Besigye’s wife Winnie to record a statement at the Special Investigations Division in Kireka on January 23.
According to a letter seen by the Ugandan, Byanyima is required to help police in an “ongoing case”.
Byanyima will appear before the Ag Deputy Director SID Henry Mugumya.
Mugumya who signed on the summon ordered  Byanyima to respond as soon as possible.

“Your positive and timely response will be highly appreciated”.

The summons come just days after the family of Akena through their lawyer Ojok and Company Advocates wrote to the Inspector General of Police (IGP) Gen. Kale Kayihura to investigate Edith Byaniyima a sister to Winnie Byanyima, the Director of Oxfam International, over her alleged ‘sectarian’ accusations on the people of Acholi.
