The Uganda Police have launched investigations into the brutal attack on a man for allegedly supporting President Yoweri Museveni’s supporter.

According to a statement issued by the Kampala Metropolitan Police spokesperson, Patrick Onyango, the force is investigating circumstances that led to the clobbering of Baker Kasumba.

In statement, Onyango reveals that Baker narrated to them that he was beaten by yet to be identified thugs who intercepted him on his way from work in Kawempe, a city suburb on Wednesday night.

Baker who was wearing a Museveni cap at the time, says that after hitting him on the head, the two men inserted 6-inch nails in his palms and was only saved by ladies who were looking for their lost child.

The ladies made an alarm after finding Baker and quickly the police responded and rushed him to Mulago Hospital where he is receiving treatment.

Baker also told the police that he had received a message on Sunday from an unidentified person warning him agaisnt his support for Museveni.

Onyango has since warned those using violence as political strategy to intimidate others saying Uganda is a free country where everyone has the right to express themselves freely
