Police has recovered eight vehicles that had been stolen from different parts of Kampala in the last two weeks.

Flying Squad under the command of the new commandant Peter Kakonge recovered the vehicles in areas of Namanve, Nansana, Lungujja, Natete, Wakaliga Road, and Ndeeba.

The vehicles which include: three Toyota Premios, a Toyota Hiace, Mark 2, two Toyota Ipsums and Toyota Wish were recovered in the operation.

Luke Owoyesigyire, the Kampala Metropolitan Police spokesperson said the theft of these recovered vehicles has been connected to a group of four suspects arrested last week in areas on Nansana, Ganda.

The suspects were arrested after one of them identified as Muhammad Lutaaya was intercepted in Nansana driving a grey Toyota Premio registration number UBA 738K stolen from Entebbe Road last week.

Owoyesigyire says, Lutaaya was questioned and later some of his accomplices Paul Lubega and Yahaya Mafabi were also arrested.

The suspects are still being held at the Central Police Station in Kampala.
