These new photos of President Museveni, pushing a bicycle with a yellow jerrycan full of water, have raised questions – such as whether the cowboy hat-wearing leader was pulling off another cheap publicity stunt or was fitting in with his new neighbours in Kawuku Luwero where he recently bought a farm and plans to build a home.
In July, Mr. Museveni was trolled on the internet when a photo was released by his press officer Don Wanyama showed him surpriseing village residents in Kyeirumba when he stopped on the side of a highway to make a phone call.
On Monday morning, Mr. Museveni has been photographed pushing a bicycle with a yellow jerrycan of water before demonstrating bottle/drip irrigation to locals at his farm in Kawuku.
Museveni also planted bananas and coffee.
He said the bicycle will also help him monitor government programmes.

Museveni says he intends to set up a model farm where he will use local means of irrigation to show local farmers how to take advantage of water sources in the area to irrigate crops and earn a living.
Museveni is currently on a four day tour of the rural areas of the Luwero Triangle in his effort to preach the gospel of modernized agriculture. He has a soft spot for Luweero where several families risked their lives to help him capture state power during NRA’s five-year war (1980-86).
