Ali Ssekatawa the new Director for Legal and Corporate Affairs of the Petroleum Authority of Uganda (PAU) is a diligent lawyer.

The football diehard seen by many as the dark horse and brain behind Uganda Revenue Authority’s winning a protracted $700 million legal battle in different courts, including a Ugandan Tax Appeal Tribunal and a commercial court in London has now swapped roles and joined a 5-man team set to be at the forefront of managing Uganda’s oil.

Those appointed are Dozith Abeinomugisha (Director for Exploration), Penninah Aheebwa (Director for Technical Support Services), Alex Nyombi (Director for Development and Production), Michael Otonga Ochan (Director for Finance and Administration) and Ali Ssekatawa.

Ernest Rubondo, the Executive Director of PAU says the youthful team is tasked with supporting the implementation of the authority’s mandate of monitoring and regulating the exploration, development and production of petroleum together with the development and operation of pipelines and the refinery in Uganda.
