President Yoweri Museveni has revealed that the country’s economic situation is resilient following its ability to withstand the different difficulties caused by the Covid-19 pandemic.
Museveni made the call as he addressed the nation to mark the 59th Independence celebrations at Kololo ceremonial grounds, on Saturday.
“Today 9th October 2021 is the 59th independence anniversary of Uganda. In the past two years, 2020 and 2021 the new Uganda that rose after so many problems has shown that it can stand on its feet and defeat any challenge,” Museveni said.
He added, “In these two years as many of you know we dealt successfully with the problem of locust invasion, the rising levels of the waters of the lakes, the landslides and the corona pandemic where we minimized the death.”
