Although Oktoberfest might have originated in Germany, but over the years the festival has become famous beyond Germany. As the world’s gathering place, Sheraton Kampala is prepared once again to host its annual Oktoberfest celebration from today October 1st to Saturday the 5th for a grand event.

The five-day festival will feature authentic and unique German beverages, plenty of local beer brands, soft drinks served with lots of foods such as beef Goulash, pork Goulash, Jaeger Schnitzel, Roasted belly ribs in beer sauce, Bockwurst, Bratwurst, Sauerkraut, Bread rolls, Pretzol Bread, Spaetzle with creamy cheese, Red cabbage with Green Apple prepared by Chef AlexsanderPavlovic and Chef Hassin

True to the festival roots, guests were served by traditionally-dressed waiters and waitresses to suit the occasion. Also the Golden Brothers performed a live band of classical and traditions music that date way-back.

On top of these, the hotel conducted friendly inter-cultural beer games such as beer straw challenge, tug-of-war, beer pong, arm wrestling, Stein (beer glass) hoisting challenge, beer speed drinking that put revelers in a merry mood as the celebrations went on until late.

Speaking at the event, the PR and Marketing Manager Ms. Joselyn Ngiine said,Oktoberfest is a must for all Sheraton brands. As the first hotel to land in many cities around the world, Sheraton has for long been the fabric of communities across the globe. Therefore the Oktoberfest is intended to celebrate the rich Germany heritage, cultures and extraordinary experience.

Adding that, we are quite excited to give our guests an assured five days feast with cooler nights, hearty food, fine German beverages, good-time tunes and a party atmosphere, said Ms.  Ngiine

During the event refreshments kept coming, and the food offered something for everyone, with buffet standards such as roast chicken and beef alongside German classics such as sauerkraut, schnitzel and, of course, delicious sausages for those who want to enter into the Teutonic spirit.
