Obi Imemba takes over at Total Uganda

Kampala, September 3rd, 2018 – Nigerian national Mr Obi Imemba has been appointed as the new Managing Director of Total Uganda Limited.

Mr Imemba has worked with the Total group for over 16 years and has served in several leadership positions hence, he brings with him a wealth of experience. Prior to joining Total Uganda Ltd., he worked as the Field Operations Manager in Total E&P Netherlands where he successfully developed and implemented a new Operating model for the affiliate.

During his career with Total, Obi has also held roles as Offshore Installations Manager, Production Manager; and several other roles in facilities, projects and operations management in different countries including France, South Korea and Nigeria. He holds a master’s degree in Asset Integrity Management from the Robert Gordon University Aberdeen, U.K. and a bachelor’s degree in Industrial and Production Engineering from the Federal University of Technology Owerri, Nigeria.

In a recent event held at the Kampala Serena hotel, Mr Imemba was introduced to partners, customers and employees of Total Uganda Ltd. Thereafter he thanked the outgoing Managing Director, Mr Florentin de LOPPINOT and the staff of Total Uganda Limited for the great job they have done in positioning the affiliate as a leader in the downstream petroleum sector.

He went on to emphasize that the priority as a team will be to maintain the highest level of safety, reflecting the core value of the group, as well as upholding other values, ethics and business principles of the group. Mr Imemba said he will continue to develop the business, while maintaining the position & image of Total in Uganda as the brand of reference in the market in terms of market share, quality of products, standards, customer service, and sustainable community development.

He added that Total Uganda Ltd. prides herself in being passionate about attracting, developing, rewarding and retaining the best talent across the country and will continue to invest in developing Uganda’s local talents as a pivot for her sustainable future. In his closing remarks, he thanked the staff, stake holders and partners of Total Uganda Ltd. for the warm welcome and reiterated that the affiliate will continue to work hand in hand with Total E&P Uganda to offer the Ugandan society sustainable value leveraging our integrated model that cuts across the energy value chain.

“Total Uganda remains committed to being the preferred choice for high quality products and services anchored on a dynamic and diverse human capital, delivering sustainable value and relationships” he said.
