NWSC-YWP #1milliontrees4UG goes to Kamuli

The Speaker of Parliament Rebecca Kadaga this week graced the function organized by the NWSC- Young Water Professionals to launch the #1milliontrees4UG campaign at Kamuli Township Primary school.

The green activists also redesigned the school compound under their greening project with atotal of 20,000 trees will be planted to make Kamuli greener.

Speaking on behalf of NWSC Board, Mrs. Kanyaruju directed the Area Manager Kamuli, Mr. Walakira Steven to spearhead the process of ensuring that at least every child in the school Kamuli Township Primary School (where the One Million Tree planting campaign was held) and people in Kamuli plant a tree on every birthday they celebrate.

The YWPs a group of youth working in the water sector are affiliated to the International Water Association (IWA) and the African water Association (AFWA).

In Uganda, the group is hosted and supported by National Water and Sewerage Corporation.

Recently the group launched a hands washing campaign to promote sanitation and health in primary and secondary schools in Uganda.
