Nsangi boy, 16, killed after school party over girl

According to local police officers, a Nsangi teenager known to be friendly in the community died after he was assaulted by fellow students on Saturday night.

The 16-year-old girl, identified by loved ones as Latiibu Lwanga, a senior three student at Nsangi Secondary School was beaten to death near Kaasi Kaasi Jelly Company factory during a fight over a girl

The three students who were arrested over the tragic incident revealed that Lwanga was the incident occurred past midnight after a fight over a girl.

Ephraim Mutatine an officer in charge of investigations at Nsangi Police Station told Bukedde Lwanga was hit with a brick on his head by fellow students who were fighting for a girl. The two schools Nsangi Secondary School and Standard high school, Nsangi in the same neighbourhood held parties on Saturday evening.

The party at Standard High School ended a bit earlier and the students of Standard high school decided to move to Nsangi Secondary school. It was from there that the fight broke out as they were walking to the neighbouring school.

A security guard at Kaasi Kaasi Jelly Company tried to rescue the victim but he found him severely wounded. His colleagues instantly fled away when they sighted the guard.  The security guard then took him at Victor clinic in Nsangi. He then contacted his father who moved him to three hospitals Lubaga, Nsambya and Nakasero for a scan before he passed on.

The father of the late was in utter shock. He had spent the morning hours with his son and by evening, his son was dying in his arms.

“My heart is broken,” local leader Madina Nansubuga said as she choked up during while speaking to TheUgandan on Monday. “I’m so upset that the young boy lost his life. Things like this shouldn’t happen.
