Both bodies still laying at the mortuary of the Yaounde general hospital
The bodies of two Ugandan pastors who perished in Cameroon during Friday’s nasty train crash – are stuck in West Africa.
Pastors Nathan Tumusiime and Nicodemus Nuwasiima from City Prayer Towers in Mbarara are among the 80 people that died in a train crash while on an evangelical mission.
Tumusiime’s home is in Biharwe while Nuwasiima is from Itendero in Sheema district with the cost of bring their bodies back home from West Africa estimated at over sh50m.
The duo had spent over a month in Cameroon preaching the gospel.
Anna Tumwine, wife to Tumusiime has pleaded with the government for assistance.
Death toll in Cameroon train crash
Seventy-nine were killed and over 300 injured when a packed Cameroon passenger train derailed on October 21 while travelling between the capital Yaounde and the economic hub Douala, state broadcaster Crtv said. The train, crammed with people due to road traffic disruption between the two cities, left the tracks just before reaching the central city of Eseka, Transport minister Edgar Alain Mebe Ngo’o said earlier.
