Just days after President Museveni contributed Shs80million towards the treatment of former Archbishop of the Church of Uganda His Grace Livingstone Mpalanyi Nkoyoyo, the Mukono Diocese Bishop has said that the former clergyman has been ignored.

Rt Rev Willaim Ssebagala has blamed government for abandoning the Retired Archbishop “without enough medical help in the UK Hospital.”

The Bishop noted that Nkoyoyo requires a lot of funds for his treatment in the UK but the funds that have been collected are little. He described the amount so far collected as a mockery to the country, adding that a person of his caliber shouldn’t be seeking contributions from all corners of the country.

“He needs to be operated but they found out that he needed to be treated first,” Bishop Ssebagala said.

He said this during special prayers for Archbishop Nkoyoyo including the fundraising at St. Andrews and Phillips church Mukono.

“The government should come up and save us from this disgrace, those concerned should come out and save us the embarrassment,” he said.

The Bishop insinuated that President Museveni’s contribution is welcome but not enough.

“I thank President Museveni for his contribution of shs82 million and I appeal to government to also help the man who has done great things for the nation.”
He

Bishop Ssebagala encouraged Christians to continue praying for Nkoyoyo, saying that prayer heals everything.
