The government Chief Whip Ruth Nankabirwa and Opposition leadership in Parliament have reshuffled the members of sessional committees at Parliament.
The reshuffle sees many former chairpersons who voted against the removal of the presidential age limit dropped and replaced by others.
Mbale woman MP Connie Galiwango has been dropped as chairperson of the Education Committee and replaced with Pallisa County MP Jacob Apolot.
Buvuma Islands MP Robert Migadde Ndugwa has been dropped as chairperson of the Agriculture committee and replaced with Abim District Woman MP Janet okori-moe
Fort Portal Municipality MP Alex Ruhunda has lost his position as chairperson of the trade committee and has been replaced with Nansana Municipality MP Robert Sebunya.
Kiryandongo District Woman MP Helen Kahunde has been ejected from her seat as vice chairperson health committee and replace with Baguma spelanza.
Ameru Susan the Amuria woman MP is no longer vice chairperson presidential Affairs committee she has been replaced with Napak District Woman MP Nyakuni Jessica, while Jinja district woman MP Loy katali the deputy chairperson finance committee has been replaced with Pakwach District Woman MP Jane Pacuto Avur
Others who have been dropped as chairpersons of committees are Judith Nabakoba the chairperson of Defense and Internal Affairs committee.
Luwero District Woman MP Lillian Nakate has been dropped as chairperson of the Infrastructure committee and replaced with Nakifuma MP Robert Sekitoleko. Mohammed Nsereko the chairperson of the Equal opportunities committee has been ditched for PWD representative Hellen Asamo.
Nankabirwa announced the changes during yesterday’s plenary sitting.
